I feel like I got a lot done this weekend. We did the early planting — lettuce, spinach, radishes, carrots, kale, broccoli, etc. The garden looks really good. We still have one square to dig, add dirt to and plant. That square is going to be our herb garden though, and most of those will be started inside. It was so sunny and warm all weekend. Being able to go outside during the day makes the baby so much more reasonable when it comes to napping and going to bed!
My second ferment of kombucha turned out A-MAZING. I’m totally hooked on this. I can’t wait till I get some flowers in my garden I can add to (the finished tea). I noticed that it almost has a floral bouquet. Eight days is optimum for me too — not too sour, not too sweet. Sooooooo good. I could drink pitchers of this all day long. Seriously. It’s so good. Soon I’m going to have more mother’s than I know what to do with though. If you want me to send you one, let me know!
I finished a custom order this weekend. I think these pads turned out really well. Sometimes I sew a pad and I think, Dang! That’s one good lookin’ pad! Then I remember that some nice lady is just going to bleed all over it (and that makes me happy too).
We babysat a friend’s little daughter on Saturday night. She’s a few months older than Sullivan and she’s SO different in personality. Sullivan was a little confused and got really upset when he saw me hold the other baby — so Aaron spent most of the evening with her watching Muppet Show on the couch while Sullivan rolled around on my lap — alternating between really wanting to play and not wanting to leave my side. They did play together for awhile — Molly sat on Sullivan’s little push car thing — then Sullivan came up behind her and pushed her off! It was fun though and I’d totally do it again. Aaron and I have been talking about another baby. Originally we said yes, then lately no. But now? I keep waffling. I don’t want Sullivan to be an only child, but don’t want to bust any opportunity I have to have a career/finish schoo/grad school/get my business on track. It’s such a mixed bag. Plus I don’t really like babies.
Speaking of my business, I have really *really* exciting things in store! The first is that I’m going to use my domain as a shop (I’ll be moving the blog when this happens) — so I won’t be on etsy anymore (exclusively — I might keep my shop open there since I already have feedback). I’m also in the process of incorporating and making contacts with wholesale suppliers so that I can retail products that I really love (cloth diapers, for example). I’m also changing my pads up some — and I’ll need some testers for that. What all this amounts to is that I’m planning on taking a summer vacation to reorganize. Incorporating is kind of a PITA. Especially figuring out the book-keeping/taxes stuff. Good thing my husband has a degree in accounting! Ha.
The only thing I didn’t get done is a bunch of packages put together that need to be in the mail tomorrow — I realized I didn’t have any envelopes and so we tried to go to pick some up this evening, but everything was closed by 8. How frustrating.
Tomorrow is metalsmithing! I’m excited!!
